Hailing from the "Birth Place of Basketball" and Smith & Wesson Gun Factory of Springfield Massachusetts, a young rising M.C. by the name of Dev "2B-Announced" Dixon has hit the rap game hard, making hard for these other rappers out here to breathe. With a unique northern style and creative mindset for music, 2B brings a sound like no other to the world of Hip- Hop.
He has had quite a break though in the underground world through exclusive freestyles, hard tracks, mind blowing battles, and his new single for 2009 titled, "Stroke On Em(The Swim Song)". What makes him so different as an artist and entertainer is his vivid story telling, and gift of freestyling "straight from the top of the dome" about anything, anywhere, and any how.Wow. His slogan "Whats Goonie Bruddah?" has become a popular signature mark for the young, fly talented artist, and he has proved over the years that he is a forced to be reckon with.
Born September 2nd 2008, Dev Dixon was raised by both parents, until 15, in the inner city of Springfield MA. His hood was a pretty rough place and he enjoyed things like basketball, art, and video games. He was always in love with music from an early age, but his love for Hip Hop began to blossom around the age of 12. 2B-Announced later attended college at the University of North Carolina Central in Durham North Carolina. He is currently a Junior majoring in Mass Communications. His flow packs a raw, witty lyrical edge along with an unbearable arsenal of punchlines and hard hitting metaphors about the streets he grew up in, the college life, and the struggles, twists and turns.
Since his success in North Carolina, he has opened and performed live, sharing the stage with stars and celebrity recording artists such as LLOYD, LUDACRIS, LIL RU, DRAKE, OJ DA JUICEMAN, THE LOX(D-BLOCK), SOULJA BOY TELL EM, CASSIDY, YOUNG JEEZY, USDA, CRIME MOB, and CURRENCY. He won B.E.T.'s College Tour Freestyle Tournament at NCCU in 2006 and was featured on their commercial. He also came in first place at the 1st annual "B.A.R.S Freestyle Tournament" in Chapel Hill, NC in 2008, and he was countless other battles in the past for substantial amounts of cash prizes. His new single "Stoke On Em"(The Swim Song) ft. DJ Kunseit and Young Swift, has recently been ringing bells amongst hip hop go'ers and just might be the next best thing in today's world of music.
